What to Know Before You Specify

Velvet is the deepest range in the catalogue, and drawstring is by far its dominant construction — 32 of the 39 styles here close that way, most in the suede-feel velvet used for jewelry and gift presentation. The variation between styles is mostly in what sits on top of that base construction: contrast cord, ribbon, embroidered motifs or a foil-stamped mark.

Colour is the thing to get right physically rather than on screen — velvet is a pile fabric, so the same pouch reads as two different shades depending on which way the nap runs, and again between daylight and retail lighting. Approve a swatch under the lighting the product will actually sell in before committing to a colour range.

Transit

Pile crushes under compression in bulk cartons. Raise packing method at sampling if pouches ship packed tight.

Decoration

Foil and deboss both hold well on velvet; very fine line work can sink into the pile — check the smallest element on a stamped sample.

Velvet is a pile fabric, so colour shifts with the direction the nap runs and with the lighting it is photographed or viewed under. Photography here is approved reference imagery, not a colour proof — approve a physical swatch under your own retail lighting before production.

What closure options does velvet come in?

Standard drawstring covers most of the range; ribbon drawstring and ribbon bow variants are also in regular production for a more finished, gift-oriented presentation. All three are shown across the styles in this catalogue.

Does velvet survive shipping in bulk?

Pile can flatten where pouches are packed tight under weight, and recovery varies by fabric. If your programme ships in bulk cartons rather than individually protected, raise it at sampling so fabric and packing are checked together.
