Light body, contrast ribbon
A pale velvet body with a contrast ribbon is a high-visibility construction: there is nothing else competing, so ribbon proportion and colour relationship carry the whole impression.
Approve both together on a made sample. On light fabrics especially, a ribbon that looked correct on a swatch card can read heavier or dirtier against the finished pouch.
What to check on a pale pile fabric
Light velvet shows handling and soiling more readily than dark, and pile crushing is more visible on a pale surface because the flattened area catches light differently.
Where the programme ships loose in bulk, ask specifically about protection in the carton and about dye transfer from a dark ribbon under humidity.
