Dust Bag Manufacturing for Handbag & Footwear Brands

Cotton dust bags for handbags, shoes, boots and leather accessories — sized from the item they protect, closed with a drawstring, and branded to ship inside the product box or as an after-sale replacement.

What to Specify

A dust bag is the last piece of packaging a customer keeps. It is handled every time the product is put away, long after the carton and tissue are gone, which makes it a durability specification as much as a presentation one.

Start from the item as it will be stored — packed dimensions with handles folded or heel upright, and whether one bag size has to cover several product variants. Those inputs set the internal size and the drawstring allowance before fabric or logo is chosen.

Breathability

Stored leather and textile need air exchange. Cotton is the usual specification for this reason; a sealed non-breathable wrap traps humidity against the item.

Sizing across a range

One bag size covering several product variants should be a deliberate decision. Send the largest and smallest items so the range is specified rather than discovered at sampling.

Repeat handling

Dust bags are opened and re-closed for the life of the product. Seam finish and cord anchoring fail before the fabric does, so both are checked against the approved sample.

Where it ships

A bag packed inside the product carton has a volume budget; one supplied separately as an after-sale item does not. Say which, because it changes fabric weight and folding.

Avoidable

What Usually Goes Wrong Here

Three failures specific to Handbag & Footwear Brands programmes — each one costs a resample if it is caught late.

Measuring the bag empty when it ships stuffed

A handbag stored with its filler in place is wider and deeper than the same bag flat. Decide which state the dust bag has to fit, measure that state, and say so on the enquiry — this is the single most common cause of a dust bag that will not close over the widest point.

Assuming one size covers the range

Product ranges described in the same size class vary more than the names suggest, and a dust bag sized for the middle of the range strains on the largest item. Send the largest and the smallest so the coverage is specified deliberately, or split it into two sizes.

Placing the logo on a flat rectangle

A mark centred on the flat panel can disappear into the gather once the drawstring is pulled closed. Confirm placement on a drawing of the finished, closed bag rather than on the flat pattern.

Quality & Process

The Same Three Gates, Whatever the Sector

Raw-material traceability before cutting, in-line checks during production, and 100% finished inspection before packing — with third-party inspection welcome at any stage. The six-step path from inquiry to delivery is the same for every programme.

Common Questions

What size dust bag do we need for our handbags?

Measure each bag as it will be stored — width at the widest point, height with handles positioned as intended, and depth including hardware — and send those numbers rather than a size name. The internal size is specified from them with an allowance for the drawstring channel. See the dust bag sizing guide for how to measure and the mistakes that cause a resample.

Do you make dust bags for shoes and boots as well as handbags?

Yes. Footwear is specified the same way, from the packed dimensions — a boot needs height clearance a shoe does not, and a pair stored in one bag needs width for both, positioned as they will actually be packed.

Can dust bags carry our logo?

Silk screen, heat transfer and embroidery all work on cotton. Send vector artwork with the intended placement on the flat face; placement is confirmed on a drawing of the finished bag, because a mark centred on a flat panel can fall inside a gather once the bag is drawn closed.

Can you match the dust bags we already supply?

Send the existing bag, or its measurements, fabric weight and closure detail, and it can be quoted as a specification. Construction can be matched; artwork belonging to another brand cannot be reproduced.
