Low-MOQ Custom Packaging for Small Brands
Minimum order quantity is set by your specification, not by policy. This page covers which choices lower it, which raise it, and how to get a feasibility answer for a small first run instead of a generic minimum.
What lowers a minimum
Use a fabric already in production
Fabric in regular use carries no sourcing premium. A bespoke colour or weight may need its own fabric run with its own minimum.
Reduce the colour count
One design in four colours at low volume is four short runs, each with a changeover. Consolidating colours is usually the single biggest lever.
Pick decoration matched to run size
Silk screen charges per-colour screen setup, which hurts at low volume. Heat transfer avoids screen setup entirely and often wins on small runs.
Keep the construction standard
A plain drawstring pouch reuses existing patterns. A gusseted, padded or structured build needs new pattern work.
Simplify packing
Individual polybagging, hang-tag application and retail-ready cartons each add a handling step with its own practical floor.

Common Questions
What is your minimum order quantity?
There is no single published minimum, because it is set by construction, fabric sourcing, decoration setup, colour and size spread and packing requirements rather than by policy. Send the specification with your target quantity and the team will confirm feasibility for that program.
Can you do a small first order?
Send the specification and the quantity you actually want. If the target is below what that specification supports, there are usually levers — fewer colours, a different decoration method, a fabric already in production, a simpler closure — and those trade-offs are worth discussing explicitly.
Which single change lowers the minimum most?
Usually the colour count, followed by the decoration method. Reducing four colours to one, or moving from silk screen to heat transfer to avoid per-colour screen setup, changes the economics of a small run more than most other adjustments.
Do repeat orders have a lower minimum?
Repeat orders avoid the one-time work — pattern development, artwork setup, screens and dies — that drives much of a first-order minimum. Agree the reorder terms when the first order is placed so the path is set in advance.
