Pouch Printing Methods Compared: Foil Stamping, Silk Screen, Heat Transfer & Embroidery

The single biggest factor in how your custom pouch looks is the branding method. Here is how the four techniques we run most often compare, and when to use each.

Foil stamping (gold / silver)

The signature finish for velvet and suede jewelry pouches. A heated die presses metallic foil into the fabric, leaving a crisp, reflective logo that catches light beautifully. Best for single-color logos on velvet, microfiber and satin. Minimum letter height around 3 mm for clean edges.

Silk screen printing

The industry standard for cotton and canvas. Ink is pushed through a mesh screen, one color at a time, delivering bold, opaque colors at the lowest cost for runs over 500 pcs. Limit: each color needs its own screen, so designs over 4–6 colors get expensive, and gradients are not possible.

Heat transfer

Your design is printed onto transfer film and heat-pressed onto the fabric. It handles multi-color logos and photographic images at small to medium quantities without screen setup costs. The finish sits slightly on top of the fabric.

Embroidery & debossing

Thread-stitched logos for a tactile finish that never fades or cracks — ideal on heavier cotton canvas. On microfiber and leather trims, blind debossing offers an understated, luxury alternative.

How to choose

• Jewelry / velvet pouches: gold or silver foil stamping — the category standard.
• Simple 1–3 color logo on cotton, 500+ pcs: silk screen — unbeatable unit cost.
• Photo or gradient art, short run: heat transfer.
• Premium corporate gift: embroidery or debossing, plus a woven label.
