Knotted handles are formed from the bag fabric and tied rather than sewn on as separate straps, which gives a soft, informal look with no hardware. The knot is the load point, so fabric weight matters more than it would with stitched handles. Confirm carrying feel on a loaded sample — a knot that looks right empty can dig into the hand under weight.
How the folded handle is formed
A folded handle is formed from the bag's own fabric rather than attached as a separate strap, which removes a component and gives a cleaner line. The fold and its stitching carry the load, so fabric weight matters more than it would with a sewn-on webbing handle.
Load the sample and check the fold does not distort or pull open at the ends under weight.
Repeat or placed motif on pile fabric
A motif changes what the buyer is approving. Beyond colour, the decisions are scale, placement and repeat: a motif sized against a flat artboard frequently reads too large or too busy once it is on a made pouch with a gathered top. Pile fabric also softens edges slightly, so fine line work loses definition that it keeps on a smooth surface. Approve the motif on the production fabric at production size rather than from artwork.
