The suede-feel surface is dense, short-pile and low-lint, which is why it is used where the fabric is in constant contact with polished metal, stones or lenses. It debosses cleanly and takes foil well. Colour shifts with pile direction, so approve a physical swatch with the nap running the production direction rather than judging from a photograph.

This is the single most common reason an envelope pouch sample gets rejected. Flap depth is specified from packed thickness, not from the empty pouch — so send the packed dimensions of the contents and check the sample with the product inside.
A plain flap presents cleaner and is lower cost. A snap closes positively and stays closed, which matters if the pouch will be carried loose in a bag. Decide from how the pouch travels after it leaves the counter.
They sit flatter than drawstring pouches, which helps, but a flap does not contain contents the way a zip does. If the pouch is the only thing holding the product through a courier network, consider a snap or a protective outer.
