Where the ribbon changes the handling
Flat ribbon rather than round cord lies closer to the body of the pouch and ties into a bow that keeps its shape, which is why this style suits gifting and retail presentation.
It also slides differently. A wider ribbon needs a channel sized for it and will not run as freely as cord, so confirm ribbon width against channel width on the sample — this is the detail that decides whether the pouch feels smooth or stiff to close.
